Find the perfect wedding dress for you with these tips

View More: http://maikdobiey.pass.us/wedding-leigh-luis

Find the perfect wedding dress to complement your body shape is a hard one! When shopping for your wedding dress you should focused on colors, fabric, details, but most importantly on the silhouette style of the dress, since it needs to perfectly fit your body shape. This is actually good, since you will see that you manage to limit the endless stream of wedding dress choices on the market.

What does “it needs to perfectly fit your body shape” mean? The wedding dress needs to emphasize your best body features and it needs to de-emphasize your critical areas (large shoulders, tiny waste, broad hips, etc.) The key here is to enhance your figure and make you look amazing for your wedding day!

If you have a full bust and full hips kind of body shape with waist definition you should definitely opt for a classic A-line model which camouflage hips, balance wide shoulders and it is the perfect way to elongate your body line. It’s a classic wedding dress style from the 50’s and it is actually ideal for several kinds of body shapes such as the apple, pear and rectangle shapes.

If you have a full bust and full hips kind of body shape without waist definition you should definitely avoid puffy designs and stiff fabrics, so do not opt for the ball gown silhouette style, but rather go for a softer style such as the empire model or the classic A-line dress. This will definitely help hiding your critical area, such as broad hips or big thighs. The empire model has a high waist and short bodice and the skirt begins under the bustline. This style de-emphasizes the waist-line and makes you look taller and leaner.

If you have broad hips and little shoulder (triangle shape) you can also opt for a mermaid silhouette style, which follows your body line from the chest to the knees and then flares out into a widening skirt. It is a glamorous and sensual style, ideal for brides who want to show off their curves. This type of dress is not good for apple shape and plus size brides. A special tip: this dress style is ideal for those brides extremely comfortable with their body, so if you do not feel that way it is not worthy to wear it. Remember that the wedding day, you should look awesome, happy and you should not be worried about how you look like or if the dress is too much for you.

Very similar to the marmeid silhouette is the trumpet model, the difference is that this style has a straight-lined bodice and the cut before the flair skirt begins is more pronounced. It is ideal for bride with small waist, but not for apple share and pear shape brides since it stresses critical areas, such hips and belly.

2

Another classic wedding dress silhouette is the ball gown, which is characterized by a fitted bodice through to a tiny waist with a full skirt. This type of dress is good for almost all body shapes since it balances proportions, but it is not a good choice for short bride and apple shapes with full bust, full hips and no waist definition. A special tip: this silhouette style looks good on masculine figures, since it enhances elegance and bride’s feminine side and it gives the illusion of improving your body curves.

If you are short and slim and you are in love with simple and elegant dresses you should opt for the sheath model, a signature of simplicity that extends your bodyline and gives the illusion of height. This silhouette style has no waistline and the skirt falls straight down the floor, this creates a sense of elegance and sophistication.

Overall, what I can say from my experience as wedding planner the silhouette style is essential but it is also important that every bride doesn’t limit her preferences and try on all the dresses that she likes. These are only tips, the real wedding dress is also made by the bride, her personality and her appeal. Finally one thing I have personally experienced: that day you will look amazing and radiant, since your happiness will make vibrate everything!

Romantic, Stylish and Elegant Blue Tones Color Palette

portada

The blue tones combined with green accents are perfect for a summer wedding, this is a fresh and elegant color for a romantic bride.

In this wedding we loved how different tones of blue combined together, especially for the bridesmaids’ dresses and the awesome flowers bouquets with long multicolored and flowy ribbons. They were really fabulous! Blue tones were everywhere at this wedding: the cake topper, flowers decorations at the ceremony, bride’s shoes (so stylish!!!), photobooth backdrop and much more!

Tips for Choosing the Perfect Wedding Dress

v1

Are you in that moment of the wedding planning process? I know…it’s a big deal! Choosing your wedding dress is a stressful and extremely important decision a bride needs to make. Let’s start from the color, it can also be a huge issue: “I might opt for a classic white, no wait maybe ivory is classier… and if I opt for ivory…which shade of ivory should I go for? … Or maybe a champagne tone goes more with my skin color.” We better do not mention the kind of the fabric, should I opt for an embroidered lace or for a more simple option such as satin … should I consider chiffon or tulle … and what about the accessories you might want to use???… it is a huge and apocalyptic decision! As you can see there are soooooo many things you should consider before choosing your wedding dress, but one thing is for sure: try not to make such a big deal!

3

The purpose of this article is to help you consider the relevant and pertinent things before making the big choice. Here a list of things you should definitely consider before going shopping for your wedding dress:

  • BUDGET: this is an extremely important issue, without money you cannot have the $ 100,000.00 dress of your dream. So prioritize and come up with a real budget for the dress. This should not include accessories, so reserve a part of budget for accessories: veils, shoes (I mean SHOES, other scary and apocalyptic issue!), jewelries, tiaras and more.
  • DO RESEARCH: you should definitely spend some time researching the web and the major bridal and wedding magazines. You will end up knowing the names of the best wedding dress designers and dreaming about haute couture wedding dresses. Other suggestion I can give you is to prepare some mood boards with what you have in mind, perhaps use Pinterest; this will help organizing your ideas. You can divide the boards based on the dress color, the dress length, the top choices and the less probable choices, etc.

2

  • SEASON: take in account when you are getting married. Is it a spring wedding, a winter wedding, a summer or fall wedding? This is something you got to have clear before making your choice. On the season depends the fabric you might want to use, the neckline, the accessories and much more.
  • TIME AND PLACE: you should consider at what time are you getting married, is it a day or a night wedding? Also what about the venue? Is it a rustic Hacienda, a luxury hotel ballroom or an open space with a tent? All this factors influence your wedding dress choice. For example if you are tying the knot during the daytime you can also consider a short wedding dress.

View More: http://maikdobiey.pass.us/wedding-leigh-luis

  • LENGTH: definitely consider length as an important factor and have a clear idea of the length of the dress you are looking for. Are you looking for a floor-length wedding dress? or do you prefer a knee-length? Or what you have always dreamed of was a wedding dress train? And if this is the case, a cathedral train, a royal train or perhaps a chapel train? … So, have this clear before going shopping!
  • SILHOUETTE: you got to be honest with you and your body. Try to find the dress shape that best fits your silhouette. For example if you have some problems in the hips and thighs you should opt for a ball gown dress, if you have curves go for a mermaid dress, etc.

View More: http://maikdobiey.pass.us/wedding-annamarco

A part from all the items listed above I suggest you to be honest with yourself and also to believe in your instincts, so if you feel like you have just found the dress of your dream, just go for it. Try to make it not so complicated! Also try to think outside of the box and be open to different styles, even if you have your own thoughts on the wedding dress. Many brides opt for dresses that not necessarily reflect their style. So, good luck on your wedding dress hunting!

How to plan the Perfect Father/Daughter Dance on your Wedding Day

View More: http://maikdobiey.pass.us/wedding-leigh-luis

The father and daughter dance is always a very special moment, when teary eyes are guaranteed. It is extremely emotional for the bride and her father, and all the wedding guests can feel the intensity of the moment. There is a high possibility that after this dance you will have to retouch your make-up, depending on the things your father tells you. Generally before this dance I always look for my make-up bridal survival kit, so that I have it with me in case the bride needs to fix her make-up.

View More: http://maikdobiey.pass.us/wedding-annamarco

But how can you choose the perfect song for this dance? In my opinion the right song for a father/daughter wedding dance needs to have the following elements: it has to be a sweet song, not romantic since this is not the man you just married; it has to be meaningful, which means that it has to recall memories and moments you shared with your father during your childhood for example; also it has to be a beautifully written songs with awesome words and melody; it has to deliver the following message: “I appreciate our relationship, you always took good care of me and I know you will always do, and if I am here today it is also because of you”. In other words this is not an easy choice to make at all.

You can choose the songs on your own, trying to surprise your father and all your guests or you and your dad can make the choice together. You can actually do it both ways, the most important thing is that you go for the right song.View More: http://maikdobiey.pass.us/wedding-annamarco

Here a couple of tips I came up with after the father and daughter wedding dances I have seen so far:

  • Use a shortened version of the song: your guests will love to watch you and your father dancing on the dancefloor but not for more than 2 minutes, since they will also be hungry after the ceremony. So, ask the Dj to prepare a shorter version of the song you wish to use for that specific moment.
  • Practice with your father: even if you think that the surprise factor would be great for your dad, I suggest you to practice before the wedding day to avoid any jitters and awkward moves. The best thing you can do is to ask for help to a professional. Remember that a choreographed dance always looks better.

_MG_0570

  • Choose the song together: you can ask your father to give you some ideas because this song should reflects the love you have for each other and it should be meaningful for both of you. So it is important to involve your father in this choice too.
  • Use a medley: In case you and your father have different opinions on the song to dance, or you have two or three favorite songs, you can always create a medley, start form the slowest and peaked with the most vibrant song at the end. But remember do not make it too long!
  • Share the dancefloor: this is a good tip especially for those who feel uncomfortable dancing alone in the middle of the dancefloor in front of all your wedding guests. After the first minute you can ask the Dj to invite all other couples to join you and your dad on the dancefloor and you can also switch partners and invite your mom dancing with your dad for the rest of the song.

7 (51)

  • Be able to think about the next moment: we all know that this is a special moment and you and your father will yet few tears, but you got to be able to think about the next moment of your wedding celebration and have fun.

Finally, try to live this moment at the best, since it really means a lot to your parents, your mom will also enjoy watching you and your dad dancing on the dancefloor and you will remember it forever.

4 Ideas for Wedding Shoes

Wedding Anna Marco P-Wedding Anna Marco P-0028

Shoes are one of the most important accessories for your wedding day my dear bride! You got to keep it on mind! Shoes needs to be fashion, trendy, elegant and comfortable!!!

We imagine how difficult it can be to choose the correct pair of bridal shoes! To do the right choice you need to consider several things: they need to complement the wedding dress; I mean the color, the shape of your dress and the length. Remember that even if they are the most gorgeous pair of shoes you have seen in your life they got to be comfortable, since you will wear them all day/night, from the moment you walk down the aisle to the moment of your last dance on the dance floor.

Here we give you 4 shoes ideas from my past weddings. I hope to inspire you!

1

You should certainly consider the place where the wedding will take place, is it a garden? Is it an historic house, is it a hotel ballroom? So if your wedding will be in a garden area you have to be able to walk on an unstable ground, and definitely you have to go for comfortable hills, not so thin.  These shoes were perfect for our bride.

The idea of adding “I do” on the soil was so original, I definitely loved it! Every detail counts, so here the bride really hit the target! We the guests loved the message! In addition the color of the shoes is extremely sophisticated and they are embellished by beautiful stones in the back. Tese shoes were used for a New Year’s Eve wedding in a beautiful ballroom in Lima.

Traditionally most brides choose a classic white or ivory pair of shoes, but there are those who dare with something different like these light blue shoes, which combined with the wedding color scheme. I loved these shoes with this beautiful crystal stone on top!

You also have the option to change your shoes. This bride opted for a trendy pair of white and gold shoes embellished with studs, but she knew she could not make it for all night! So she planned to change these beautiful shoes with a more comfortable pair of sneakers with studs details. We really loved her smart idea and she managed to keep the shoes’ style! Wearing hills all night is definitely a crazy idea!

Reasons why you Should Hire a Wedding Videographer

View More: http://maikdobiey.pass.us/wedding-leigh-luis

A question that I usually receive from the bride and groom at the half of the wedding planning process is: “Should we hire a videographer as well?”. Usually all the couples add the “as well” to the question! Once they got a photographer they feel quite satisfied about the artistic coverage of their wedding, so they start thinking about a videographer few weeks or months after they hired a photographer. This is something that always happens to me as wedding planner, I do not know if other colleagues experience the same.

My answer to this question is generally something like: this is actually really up to you guys, I suggest you to have a videographer for these specific reasons (I will explain in few lines), but you should also consider your budget at this point of the planning process. Whatever videography style you choose: cinematic, documentary, artistic, classic, it is extremely worthy to have it and you can definitely adjust your wedding budget to include the videographer’s cost. So, what are the pros to have a videographer for your wedding?

1. A video can capture emotions, feelings and facial expressions that are sometimes hard to capture through photos. I know this is highly arguable, since good photographers can capture all of the above and more, but it is not always like that! Not all the wedding photographers are able to do this, so keep this in mind before taking your decision.

2. A video can capture sound and music; this is actually an essential and important pro. You can listen to what your guests were saying in a specific moment of the reception for example, you can hear the background voices in the moment the bride walked down the aisle, you can listen to the music selected for the first dance while you watch yourself dancing in the middle of the dance floor and live again that moment. Sound and music tracks are extremely important and useful to evoke memories.

3. A video allows you to see what you missed the day of your wedding. Usually the bride is getting ready in a hotel room or at home and the groom is doing the same somewhere else, also after getting ready they will take photos for their first look, so what about your guests? After ceremony bride and groom go away for their photo session, so what are the guests doing during this time? Are they having fun? They are obviously having fun, listening to the playlist you selected and enjoying a fresh drinks and appetizers. So you can see all the parts you have missed and there will be some cute and fun scene you definitely do not want to miss. This is possible if you hire a videographer with an assistant, the latter will take care of the guests while the videographer usually goes with couple for the photo session.

4. A video allows you to have everlasting and substantial memories of your wedding days. It can be watched every time you want and you can live those moments again and again. Imagine living again and again the moment of the vow exchange during the wedding ceremony, listening to your voice and watching your gesture, this is an emotional moment, full of magic and you can remember it forever with a video. Also, every time you watch it you will discover something new and this is pretty cool for me! I love to watch wedding videos, see all the decoration details and read the emotions on people’s faces.

6. Having a videographer could be extremely fun for bride and groom, since for a day they will feel like celebrities and they will play in front of the camera. This could be also fun for your guests especially if your videographer is planning to include some short interviews to your guests to sending you their best wishes for this great day.

7. A video is easy to share with your friends and family, you can also upload it on YouTube and make it public. It is soooo much fun for your guests to watch themselves and remember that special day. It is also very useful to strengthen family relationships and sometimes you will remember people who are no longer with you in the present. Also your children might have access to this video and they will feel part of your special day even if they weren’t there.

Now, some basic tips before hiring your videographer: ask him if he have already worked with the photographer you hired, since they will have to have a meeting before the wedding, explain him/her clearly what you have in mind and what is your favorite videography style, review some of his/her video samples to have an idea of how he/she works, establish a time schedule for him/her so that he/she knows exactly where to go and the timeline of the event.

So are you still in doubt about hiring a videographer for your wedding? I definitely suggest you to review your wedding budget and make room for a videographer!

5 Ideas for Wedding Chair’s Decorations

_MG_3270

Organizing a wedding is not simple; however I actually enjoy doing it, not because I am a masochist, but because I am in love with details!

The atmosphere must be exactly the one that bride and groom want and nothing can be overlooked. How do I create a special atmosphere, well…decoration is a big part of it! Using the right decoration details is the key to have a successful wedding.

One of the things that should not be overlooked is the chair to be used and its decoration. Chair and chair decorations have a very important role, and the decoration elements used need to be in line with bride and grooms’ tastes and colors scheme.  Here are 6 ideas for chairs’ decoration that I hope will inspire you.

A sophisticated and elegant wedding

Her we use a black ribbon to décor reception chairs closed with a precios and sparkling elastic band. The lace ribbon really makes the difference and added a special color touch to all the wedding reception setting.

Black, gold and white color scheme

In this wedding I used a combination of different kind of chairs, classic gold chairs for wedding ceremony with black and white striped cushions, gold chairs with black cushions and crystal chairs with white cushions. It was actually a perfect combination. In this wedding chairs were a great value added to decoration and we did not add any details to decorate them, since they already played their own role in the reception setting._MG_0134

Outdoor wedding. This was a very special wedding as it was held just to receive the New Year! One of the colors that prevailed in the decoration was the gold, so I decided to use gold chairs with a little flowers arrangement made of a white rose, gypsophila and a white ribbon.

Country and Elegant wedding

Here I decided to opt for wooden white chairs, perfect for an outdoor wedding in a beautiful hacienda. It is recommended to opt for wood especially if you are in a country setting and the reception is for example in a big garden.

The best of our 2016 weddings

4

So the 2016 is over and it was a great year, full of challenges and successful destination weddings in Peru. Me and my team worked extremely hard to satisfied and fulfill all of our bride and groom’s requests. At Say I Do in Peru we believe that we cannot start a new year without looking back at what we have done so far and making a point on what we have done well or wrong, what we have learnt and what we have achieved the past year.

In 2016 we have learnt that there are no obstacles impossible to overcome and we actually worked hard to achieve our couples wedding goals. We have learnt that each couple is different, each couple has their special point of views and it has a special way to deal with the wedding planning process. I have grown up a lot this year personally and professionally and I am extremely proud of what I have achieved and the wonderful weddings I have planned in Peru’s most amazing destinations!

The idea of this article is to collect the best moments, details, decorations of our 2016 weddings and it is indeed an opportunity to make you people understand what is my work about!

_MG_0060

So here the most amazing sweet table from a wedding I organized in November, with French macarons, decorative macarons towers, chocolate truffles, tarts (lemon, chocolate, pecan), traditional “alfajores”, a Peruvian sweet filled with “dulce de leche”, and much more. This special table, placed at the entrance of the reception area, was decorated with white orchids, glass vases filled with water and white candles, the impact was awesome and the sweets were deliciousssss! The theme of the wedding was Art Deco so the decorative elements added were in line with it, therefore we can see geometrical patterns structures, black, white and gold color scheme and white orchids, the bride’s flower choice for the entire wedding event.

Here the most amazing scenery of 2016, this picture say it all. This is an elopement in the middle of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, organized in a beautiful property nearby the Urubamba River. We found this stunning venue for this lovely couple after a visit in the area and we felt in love with this colonial church and the beauty of the well-maintained grounds. On top of that, the presence of the Andes makes this venue even more charming. The tent structure was actually really simple, since the aim was to preserve the beauty of the place itself. We add few flower decorations on the tent and we opt for this elegant white wrought iron chairs. The result was amazing, as you can see.

Here the most elegant ceremony tent for this couple who wanted to get married in a beachfront location. We selected Paracas as destination and it was easy to create this elegant and sophisticated wedding atmosphere there. White, light grey and taupe were the main colors for this wedding celebration by the Pacific Ocean. The white chairs, the elegant chair decorations, the white petals on the aisle and the white and greenery tent give the setting a magnificent elegance, enriched by the Ocean breeze and the light blue clean sky.

This is without doubt one of the most amazing wedding shot of 2016, we love the symmetry of the elements and how the colors combined with the background. This snapshot absolutely summarizes what an Andean wedding is, what are the mysticism and intimacy behind this kind of ceremony and the brightness of the colors of that moment. The venue selected was located in Cusco, it was a ground area rounded by Incas walls, a very quiet place, ideal for this kind of intimate ceremony.

The wedding cake has always a special place in a wedding celebration, it is a decorative element so it needs to be beautiful, but of course it also needs to be delicious! Here one of our favorite from 2016 wedding, this wedding cake was actually an art piece, with the perfect flowers decorations and the two doves as topper, to represent the romance and kind of the bride and groom’s love. In Greek mythology doves are associated with Aphrodite, the goddess of love, who was always depicted with doves fluttering around or on her arms; we really loved the romance and the idea beyond this unique wedding cake.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

We also loved this romantic entrance of bride and groom to the hacienda we selected for their wedding. This was a beautiful country wedding nearby Lima and we loved how all the rustic and country elements combine between each other to recreate the perfect atmosphere of a Peruvian Hacienda wedding. This white carriage was the cherry on top of the cake, and all the wedding guests were totally amazed by the beauty of the horse and the carriage’s flower decorations.W1A_4877

This is just a little part of our 2016 weddings and I feel extremely proud of the job I have done, and happy to be part of these couples’ life forever… but now let’s start focusing on the 2017 weddings, I need to get back to work! 😀

Chronicles from a New Year’s Eve Wedding

_MG_3175

Last year I received a very special request, a couple wanted to get married on December the 31st and I actually was a bit concern about the date at first. My concern was related to few points:

  1. This is a crazy time of the year; people in the event organization industry are extremely busy with their New Year’s Eve celebrations and it is going to be extremely challenging for me to find suppliers available that day!
  2. Most suppliers will charge twice as much the normal price and if we are lucky enough, sometimes they charge triple! And it would be hard to negotiate a good service for a fair amount of money in this time of the year!
  3. This must definitely be a SPECIAL MOMENT, not only for the couple, but for all the wedding guests! And when I say SPECIAL MOMENT I really mean it in this occasion! You know December the 31st is the most important day of the year for many people and they have high expectations on how to celebrate it!

Despite my concerns, I immediately started thinking about things to do to overcome all of these points and at the end, I was actually pretty surprised and satisfied of how things turn out.  All run so smoothly. First, I tried hard to negotiate fair prices with suppliers in behalf of the couple and I started looking into marvelous venues. The venue needed to be outstanding for such a special occasion! After finding the perfect ballroom in the heart of Lima’s business district I started to look into decorations and the entire reception schedule. Bride and groom obviously wanted to have a New Year’s Theme wedding, so here a couple of items that you cannot miss for this kind of event:

  • Glitter: when thinking about the color scheme do not forget that glitter is a very important element, so go for a silver and gold, black and silver, black and gold kinds of color palette. In this occasion bride and groom decided to opt for a black and gold color palette and it worked extremely well. Also guests’ dress code sticks with these colors as well, which was nice especially for the pictures.

_MG_3072

  • Bubbles: this is an essential element of the celebration! Generally you cannot run out of Champaign or any kind of sparkling wine for your wedding celebration, imagine if your event is on New Year’s Eve! This cannot be a possibility! I suggest you to be prudent and order more Champaign than the one you would order for a normal wedding. Keep in mind that this is a special day and all the people will party hard and they might choose to drink Champaign all night considering the occasion. You can also consider the idea of a Champaign tower.

  • Midnight Toast: my advice here is “have a plan” for the midnight toast! This should be a special moment and you might want to arrange a nice countdown. So coordinate with the Dj some sort of countdown and a hit to play at midnight, also you can arrange a balloon drop using gold and silver balloons, always stick with your color scheme! Be creative and find a way to make this a very special moment for your guests, and remember they are there to celebrate your union, but also to celebrate New Year’s Eve!

  • Sparklers: even though the majority of venues do not allow sparklers and fireworks, if you are lucky and find one that allows them, use it since they are a staple for this kind of celebration. And they also help you creating a very special atmosphere; you will have great pictures with the lighting they create, so if you can go for them!

  • Party Props: do not forget that people want to have fun and party that day, so buy New Years’ Eve party items, such as glitter hats, noisemakers, party horns, confetti poppers, silver and gold tiaras, and New Year ’s Eve crowns. They will certainly add festivity to your wedding celebration and you will have fun pictures of your event! If you are planning to have a Photobooth the New Year’s Eve theme will be a great plus and your funny pictures awesome!
