Congratulations on your engagement! You’ve got a lot on your mind. Even though a wedding in Peru could be a dream comes true for you and your fiancé, the last thing you need is some complex logistical nightmare getting in the way. Everything needs to come together at the right time—the locations need to be ready, the legal requirements need to be completed, and your guests need to arrive on time. It will be our responsibility to make sure that all of your questions are answered and concerns are solved. It will be a Magical experience!
Peruvian weddings take considerable planning and research, and the best properties and accommodations are often booked far in advance of the wedding date. The earlier you begin planning your wedding, the greater the likelihood you will be able to book the perfect property for you and your guests.
LOCATION
The most popular wedding destination is Lima. Other couples may also choose cities such as Cuzco, Arequipa, or Paracas, depending on preferences or family connections. We can help with weddings in almost any destination in Peru! In a country as diverse as Peru, you can choose between locations such as intimate beaches, historic churches, beautiful haciendas, amazing sites with great views, or luxurious and unique hotels.
WEDDING COORDINATOR
Our Wedding Specialists are Peruvian and American with extensive experience working with international couples, so they will understand your unique needs. We are in the business of planning successful Peru Weddings, and we take it seriously while also having fun! We are bilingual and have worked with guests from all over the world. With extensive experience in travel and destination weddings, we can take care of the entire package—wedding, all related events, and guest travel.
You may also want to plan your own ceremony and reception or may have a family member in Peru who would like to take care of all the details. Also, we had couples that have hired different Wedding coordinators to plan their ceremony and reception. That’s OK—regardless of who will do the ceremony and reception, we will work closely with you and/or your wedding planner to ensure that all details are perfectly aligned for a flawless execution of wedding and travel.
RECEPTION
Regarding the reception, we work closely with top providers in Lima, Cusco and other destinations in the country. We always chose the best venue that can reflect your expectations and desires, the best Djs or orchestra to create the perfect atmosphere. We can recommend the best catering and cake providers in the country as well as for decorations, lighting, flowers and photographers.
LANGUAGE AND TRADITIONS
Peru’s official language is Spanish, but you can decide if you would like your wedding in Spanish, English, or another language. You can also decide on which Peruvian traditions you would like to incorporate in your wedding. Being a Peruvian-American company gives us a very special knowledge of both cultures, which we consider a big added value. We can help you incorporate traditions from both Peru and other countries, and we understand how to meet your expectations while working with local providers.
CEREMONIES
Peru is a primarily Catholic country, but we have helped couples from various religious affiliations in organizing their wedding based on their special requirements. We also have unique experience working with partners from two different religions and incorporating mixed traditions. For instance, we have organized Jewish weddings and wedding reception that was completely kosher. For other couples, we have organized “Shamanic weddings” and “Andean weddings” in very special and unique locations. We, or a recommended coordinator, can organize Catholic, Protestant, Civil, Jewish, Shamanic, and other ceremonies.
LEGAL AND RELIGIOUS REQUIREMENTS
Most international couples obtain their marriage license in the country of one of the spouses since they want to keep it simple for future paperwork requirements and simply perform the ceremony in Peru. However, if you would like to legally marry in Peru, our Wedding Specialist will explain the requirements in detail. If you plan to get married in a church, it may require specific paperwork and we can certainly help you with this issue.
